Oakland Raiders 2011 Season

The 2011 season looks promising for the Oakland Raiders after an 8-8 finish to the 2010 season. Tom Cable was not resigned as the head coach for the upcoming season, instead Al Davis promoted offensive coordinator, Hue Jackson, to head coach. Hue looks to lead a rejuvenated Darren McFadden and Zach Miller back to the playoffs this year, something the Raider Nation has been waiting for since its last Super Bowl appearance in 2003.

Oakland Raiders History

The Oakland Raiders are one of most popular professional sports team in the world. They were established in 1960 and in 1963 saw Al Davis join the team as the coach. Al helped assemble a team that would help him coin and trade mark the phrases “commitment to excellence” and “Just Win Baby”. One of the most successful runs ever by a NFL team was under the leadership of John Madden who now is more famous for one the most popular video games in the world. The Raiders team colors and nickname is “silver and black” while diehard fans from around the world are known as the Raider Nation. The Raiders have appeared in 5 Super Bowls winning 3 of them.
